1 March 2025 With the start of the playing season fast approaching, the Monday afternoon, Games and Chat and the Saturday Coffee Mornings, have now come to an end. They are expected to resume in October. Thank you to all involved in cleaning and making ready the club facilities on Cleaning Day, 12th March and during the days and weeks before. Your efforts were really appreciated.
29 March 2025 OPENING DAY We can report that the opening day 29 March 2025 attracted 39 bowlers and a few hardy supporters. A very cold breezy day but enjoyed by all. Spider winner was Nigel Pilling. Jumble winners were Judy Thompson and Nigel Pilling. Well done.Thanks go to our ladies who provided refreshments at the end of the day and our Captain, Brian Simpkin, who organised the event and Vice Chairman, Ray Betts, who was in charge of discs.
22 April Club Competitions Draw was done and the Club Captain has put them on the notice board.
10 May 2025 Open Day to attract new members 10am to 1pm. FANCY BOWLING? Please come along and try out. Flat shoes should be worn on the green, we have a selection of bowls for you to play with and demonstrate your skills. This is a FREE EVENT.
Bowls Tuition, Hone your bowling skills, beginners and above, every Friday, from 11th April, 10am - 12 noon. Karen Towns Rowley and Tim Marshall will be available to help with any aspect of your bowling. Discontinued due to illness.

JULY 19TH 2025 10am - 1pm SUMMER FAYRE Free admission. If you haven't been to the bowls club before you can enter by the gate on West Avenue or down the path at the side of Filey Sea Cadets in Southdene.
Hot food, tea/coffee/soft drinks. Try out the target bowls. Win prizes on Tombola. Its a fun morning with games and socialising.

Saturday 6th September Jad Piekarski and Carol Brooks won the Ladies Pairs Cup in the Scarborough Open Bowls Week. A great week at South Cliff and Scalby. Thanks go to South Cliff who hosted the finals.
Sunday, 21st September, 2pm CAPTAIN V VICE CAPTAIN TEAM
Due to insufficient ladies for the Ladies v Gentlemen this event was changed to Captain V Vice Captain playing for the Captain's Cup donated by Club Captain Brian Simpkin. The teams were selected to ensure an evenly matched competition playing Aussie Pairs. Result 2 rinks each but just a few more points for the Captain's team. A closely fought competition and a fun day.
As we approach the last two weeks of the bowling season the weather is good this week.
TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY 23rd / 24th September, all day Aussie Pairs (new competition)
SUNDAY, 5th October, 2pm Closing Day its going to be windy but hopefully everyone will turn up for the Jumble and Spider to finish our bowling season followed by: Steak Pie and Peas at a cost of £4. The pies are from Overtons and the mushy peas made by our own Denise Hunter.
SUNDAY, 5th October, 2pm Closing Day 20 players enjoyed the autumn sunshine and the Jumble. Won by Mark Cotterill (mens prize) and Oriel Wing (Ladies prize). Al Williams won the Spider.
MONDAY 6th October Bernie will start working on the autumn treatment of the green with, hopefully, lots of volunteers.
SATURDAY 11 October 10am to 12noon Coffee morning and 50 Club draw.
