28th March 2026. Opening Day. On a bright but cold afternoon, our Chairman, Helen Burgin, opened the proceedings with words of welcome. This was followed by a minutes silence as we remembered our dear friend, Ian McGuffie, who died suddenly last month. Wishing the Club and its members success, our President, John Plewes, then ceremonially rolled the first wood of the season. Games then followed, with the Spider being won by Tony Bottomley. Braving the elements, 28 members then played a Jumble. Enjoyed by players and spectators alike, this was won by Geoff Evans and Ruth Rutt. Welcome refreshments then followed. Many thanks to all involved in organising and running the games and to the ladies who looked after the refreshments.
On Tuesday, 21st April, the draw for the club knock-out competitions took place. The Club Captain has posted them on the notice board.
