With the start of the playing season, the Saturday Coffee Mornings have now come to an end. They are expected to resume in October 2026. Future '50 Club' draws will now take place on every second Saturday of the month, in the afternoon, during the mid-match tea break. The next draw will take place on Saturday, 12th September.

Changes of dates:

As the Scarborough Open is a week later than previously, the date of that clashes with our Two Wood Pairs competition. We are therefore changing the dates of the Two Wood Pairs from 8th/9th September to 1st/2nd September.

Another conflict of dates concerns our Triples event of 25th/26th August. As this would conflict with the Vets League Cup and Plate Finals, in which both our teams will be playing, we will be playing the Triples on Wednesday/Thursday, 26th/27th August instead.

Please note an error in the syllabus. We will be playing the touring team from Leicester City on 17th August, not September.

Four Filey teams reach the finals:

Congratulations to our team in the Scarborough Open League for reaching the finals of the Cup.

Filey Southdene will play Scalby & Newby at South Clff B.C. on Wednesday, 12th August, at 6pm; this now changed to 19th August, at 5.30.

Congratulations to both our teams in the Veterans League for reaching finals in the knock out competitions.

In the 'Cup' Filey will play Pickering and in the 'Plate' Filey Southdene will play Seamer Seahorses. Both finals will take place  at South Cliff Bowling Club on Tuesday, 25th August, at 2pm.

Following on from a 'nail biting' ending in the semi-final against Seamer in the Independent League Plate, Filey was to play Scalby in the final. Unfortunately Scalby had to withdraw because of a clash of dates with the Scarborough Open. In their place, the other beaten semi-finalists, Stamford Bridge, were reinstated. Filey will therefore play Stamford Bridge. This will be held at Stamford Bridge Bowling Club on Saturday, 12th September, at 2pm.

Congratulations to the Filey Southdene team, winners of the Scarborough Open League Knock-Out Cup. Winning against a team from Scalby and Newby, at South Cliff B.C. on 19 August 2026.
